Hello friends,

Time to embark on another Photography & Color Enhancement Project. Today's subject is of a good friend of mine, the mighty Owl.

This project takes me back a few years back during my studies to become awakened to the Reiki universal life force energy. I mention this because it was in a vision during group mediation with my Master where I experienced a Screech Owl come to me .

In this group mediation the Master guided us to the base of a mountain to which we had to mentally climb. Each of us had to climb the mountain in order to see what truth may be revealed to us that related to our inner being.

In this vision it felt like I was there for weeks. I lost all sense of the physical bodies present as well as passing of time while in the room. I was alone walking for days through a forest and mountainous terrain trying to find myself. Ultimately I ended up at a camp fire where I was able to rest and regain my strength for this vision quest.

After only being at the fire a short time a bird flys over head and lands on the log near the fire. It was a Blackbird of sorts. It looked like a Raven......or perhaps a Crow. I was fearful of this bird.

It reminded me of death.

Is this a warning of my doom I thought?

No. No. It's better not think of these things here, I said to my ethereal self. After being in the camp with the Raven for what seemed like days I awake one day to see a Screech Owl had landed next to the Raven.

This feeling was very different from the Raven.

I felt a heightened sense of awareness and sense of tranquility.

Still, this sensation did not seem like what I had came here for. I felt like there was more awaiting for me.

2) I used Curves with the Brightness and Contrast tools to step up the colors in order to not be so washed out.

Growing up I've always loved these nocturnal creatures. Wise and powerful the owl is as majestic as it is predatory. I never thought I'd have one symbolically apart of me.

Over the years I've come to recognize the Owl as a spiritual ally and companion totem in my life.

3) I took a sample of the tan color in the Owl's feathers to create a Gradient Screen layer to enhance the naturally occurring brown hues.

...And just like that we're complete our Color Enhancement process for our beautiful subject here. I hope you enjoyed this process
