MADE IN ENGLAND - what's in the shed Tom?
Meet my friend Tom, one of the last true engineers. In a world of automated machinery people with his level of knowledge and hands on skills are truly a rare breed. A lifelong rider and builder of motorcycles with a endless energy, at 85 years young he still works on and rides bikes daily.
His skills have been passed on to countless bike builders and enthusiasts. His bikes have featured in many TV productions, Shed and buried and ITV's motorcycle show to mention a couple.
He has seen many come and go and all leave with a bit more understanding and a insight into motorcycle development and history.
His shed is more like a museum, i can and have spent days looking around it. A stunning collection of all things British, BSA's, Triumphs, Ariel's, Cheney, Norton and so on, along with some great automobilia.
1950's Cheney BSA motocross bike, one of Steve McQueen's rides of choice, Cheney are a frame building company that change the world of motocross with game changing geometry, still in business to this day.
Tom's daily ride a stunning Ariel,
Even more Ariel's Tom's favorite manufacturer, along with sister company BSA "Birmingham small arms" so called as they were a munitions manufacturer.
Also supplying bikes for the war effort
I hope you enjoyed a little peek into Toms shed, there's much more to see and i will share in the future.
