Apocalyptica, the Finnish cello heavy metal band that have sold more than 4 million albums. Their 1996 debut album, Plays Metallica by Four Cellos, launched their career and changed the landscape of heavy music for years to come. To celebrate the album’s 20th Anniversary, the group re-released a remastered version with three bonus tracks of brand new, never-before-released instrumental recordings of “Battery,” “Nothing Else Matters,” and “Seek and Destroy.”
Following the success of Plays Metallica by Four Cellos, a new approach to the hits of the world’s biggest metal band, Apocalyptica has gone on to release seven more studio albums, featuring numerous cello-based instrumentals along with some vocal-based songs. Whatever styles they’ve explored – from atmospheric interludes to fast, battering rhythms – their music has been gripping, dynamic and full of melody.
Over the course of their more than 20-year career, they have sold millions of record and played sold-out shows around the world.

These guys are truly amazing artists. In term of talent and pure energy today's artists can barely keep up. No wonder they are still popular despite being in the music industry for 20+ years. Kudos to you for sharing these amazing photo @axeman
The show is simply insane indeed, so much energy. Though that wasn't relatively a lot of people (since Klaipeda still quite a small city), but those guys played over 2 hours giving utmost... Respect to them

Good music and ever popular in 1996 I've heard the song mareka and the most popular song by young children.
I play cello and truly it is an amzing instrument. I like it more than violin or viola. But them easily playing complicated melodies, it's another story. So amaze with them @axeman

Yes, they have changed. First part was tribute to Metallica and second part mostly their own songs and with a drummer
