Photography - Going to the Park
Going to the Park
We went to the park today just to get out of the house and for some fresh air. We were blessed with some amazing sights which had to be captured by my Nikon camera.
The park is filled with birds, fish and plants with the most beautiful waterfalls. We entered the park where a Macaw greeted us (see the cover image and also the below). One cannot help but be amazed by the remarkable colors of this beautiful bird.
We walked across a hang bridge and managed to capture a duck standing on the edge of a pond. It actually looks like the duck is contemplating whether to jump in and join the others. In the background you can see the ripples of a waterfall and although the deep end of the pond is green the water is actually perfectly clean as it runs over the edge of the pond.
The other two ducks were swimming in between Koi fish but these ducks are not the same as the first one. They are as white as snow and while we were watching one jumped up on the ledge underneath a Cycad.
I managed to capture the one standing in a haze and it seems to want to doze off and take an afternoon nap in the shade. One lazy afternoon stance...
I managed to capture a Ring-necked dove sitting in the brush. It was interesting to see how un-phased it was by our presence even though we were just a few feet from it. It jumped up on the brunch and almost looked like it struck a pose for the camera.
Next we visited the nursery and had an opportunity to look at all the different desert plants they had available for sale. I captured a small Cactus on which small purple flowers blossomed to round of this photo perfectly. Among the thorns and flowers you can also see some dead leaves kept save from a human hand.
There was also a Barren Cactus that made the perfect shot. The round shape of the plant is complimented with the shape of the thorns which, if you use you imagination, looks like hundreds of little hands ready to fend off intruders that wish to do it harm.
