@onceuponatime,
Yeah with the color and the shape it's beautiful! Somehow it becomes more beautiful the way you captured it!
Cheers~
Why do you think that some of the other commenters say that it is definitely NOT beautiful? are they not as perceptive as you?
Beautiful.. if you are a robot or something :/
Yes. I am an "or something". Pleased to meet you. Hope you guess my name. What's bugging you is the nature of my game.
Typical cubic architectural style, austere and wisely chosen for compressing the individual but delegating power to the crowds. This kind of structure cannot be beautiful by default. It is exactly what the modern and partially the Post-modern trend tryed to impose, the anti-beautiful but fully functional urban structure. In other words if beauty has some normes that defined it for a certain given period it is no more the case. Beauty seems also fragile and is able to fragilisize its consumers while solid blocks of cement with rectangular holes playing the role of the windows offer to the crowds the illusion of equality under the protective shadow of an authoritarian structure that requires their toughness and a certain lack of sensitivity for the maintain of the constant growth of the mandatory economic status (globaly). Symbols of power and economic prosperity, these buildings might smash the personalities and shape characters of humans living and growing in such urban landscapes. The photography is good and the composition is also good but I really don't like this kind of urban style. These structures are definitely ugly!!! Nevertheless I like the composition. Have a nice and creative Tuesday!!!

Sounds like you have put a lot of thought into this sort of thing. I suppose that we are going to have to come up with some definition of "beauty" which participants can agree upon in order to discuss this topic deeply. For instance, is a property of "beauty" that it cleanly and efficiently fits form to function? Is a guillotine more "beautiful" than a hangman's noose?
I don't like it

How much would the government have to pay you to like it? (ie. vote for one in your neighborhood)
NO! hahaha that sounds like yelling.
Heck no, because it looks like a modern prison facility lmao!
Seriously, what happened to architecture these days, I didn't know that modernization means total less creativity. What happened to the grandeur of gavels and the art of sill carvings? Phased out? All but a part of history that was creative.
I like minimalism but on the inside not on the outside. This cubic plague is haunting beautiful European monuments to extinction these days, too!
What a nightmare! Do places all have to look like Dubai or New York? What happened to character? thus NO!
Who would have thought your short question would have a book for an answer hahaha! Now, that's nice isn't it?
So, I guess you don't like the Pyramids? No gavels or sill carvings. Pure minimalism on the outside.
Arrrghh.. that's going to be an exemption, although I'd probably feel like suffocating going through it. For one reason, it's the first of it's own, no modern technology was used to build it and then, some of the bricks on it actually has carvings that were made by bare hands so it has a different story hahaha, the pharaoh's ghost must be weary not being able to breathe in there having no windows at all lol. Inside that is no way minimalist and the design would overwhelm everyone so this won't pass minimalism inspection in that case hahaha.
This cube design madness that's goin on has been crafted by modern machines but they have an excuse - they want it fast plus they're tight on the budget - thus this result. Well, because the pyramids only have doors, these ones beat them for having windows! Still not beautiful imho .
"...no modern technology was used to build it"
I don't think we have any idea how it was built. Or what it was for. There are very many competing theories.
Theories, that's true .. that's what they seem to be. Since I also didn't exist during that time they were built, I guess I will have to agree that they are but theories.
Then I only have the theories to base my opinion on the pyramids being beautiful hahaha.
btw, did you notice the changes in our wallets? Do you think it's beautiful or do you like it in this case?
Did it make the wallets bigger fatter/fuller? Then it would be beautiful in my aesthetic :-)
unfortunately no :(
sorry for the late reply
I already logged out when you posted this last one
I suppose you have it all figured out
so do you like it?
The first freedom is the freedom from "like" and "dislike" :-)
No it isn't beautiful, I look at it for a long tim, I try to find something beautiful but I can not find it. Not even the color is not nice....
Well then, how why some other commenters said that it IS beautiful? They are wrong?
yes they are wrong! :)
Tell me what beautiful can I see? nothing!!!!!
Hold on there. Just because you are not an Olympic athlete, that doesn't mean that nobody is :-)
Perhaps it takes an Olympic level of perception to see the beauty!
It's no beautiful it's modern.

Are "beautiful" and "modern" contradictory?
I think if you are not a modern type.

beauty is objective we do not all have the same aesthetics the new generation is perhaps wow greatness architecture changes!!!!
I do not like it because it's a cold thing it is not something that is done with love is like a prison.....unless identified for that purpose
I think it was done with love. "Love" of money :-)
then the one who made it has cold hearts!!!

There are lots of those people. Maybe we need to find a new money system? Because I don't think we can change people's hearts. They have to do that themselves.
when you do something of your love and earn the right pay ...we have simply become an asset and we have lost what we call beauty although nature is beautiful in itself and the architecture of the terrible!!! We destroy...

to have a beautiful afternoon sir @onceuponatime 😉😉😉

In my opinion, no, I wouldn't say its beautiful. I generally don't use the term beautiful to refer to buildings though so maybe its just me.
If it wasn't for the sky shown in the photo I would feel like suffocating by looking at this building.. Even though the shape of it is interesting, I don't like the way it makes me feel.. :)
" I don't like the way it makes me feel.. :)"
Let's leave feelings out of this. The question is "Is it beautiful?"
But aren't feelings important on how we perceive beauty? It's neither beautiful, nor ugly.. It's depressing :)
There is a saying: "Love not art with your feelings"
Is that possible??
Of course! You can love art with your intellect, or with your moving centre/body, for instance, when experiencing dance or a labyrinth.
You're right.. But again, when you use your body to experience a dance for example, can you exclude your feelings at that specific moment? Don't they always add a little something?
"Feelings" make a good servant but a tyrannical "master" (at least so they they say - how would I know)
