RE: The brain creates ideas and thoughts generate feelings
Very inciteful, Sir. Emotions are a product of the way we think. The infant is able to experience just the base emotions of gratification or terror, anger, rage in the absense of gratification. As we become aware of an objective reality (outside of our subjective experience) then an ability to tolerate non-gratification becomes possible. We later start to evaluate ourselves as good or bad in relation to an objective reality, adopting values, ideas of self worth, shame, guilt, envy, and so on.
