What's the philosophy of blowing out the birthday candles ?

Birthday cake is the important thing of birthday ; people put some candles on it that shows they're new age or the last age of them cause when they blow them out ,it shows they're passing the old age .
Also it is common when people are blowing out the candles they make a wish .

Most people say : the philosophy of it is about four elements that when the creation universe decomposes we'all find 4 elements :
• Water
• Fire
• Wind
• Soil

The ancients believed if you are praying while there are these 4 elements , your wish will come true .
We have these elements in candle :
• the candle = soil
• its flame = fire
• its smoke = wind
• its melted wax = water

The candle is a sign of active human people has used it during curing specially for mental problems .
Also in the past ,people has believed the fire was the sign of greatest power in the world that it effects their lives and souls .
So using candle is for mental things and meditation cause it can be connected with human's body , mind and soul .

The silent candle is a sign of normal , silence and lonely life and it has no goods but for changing this life you have to light up the moral fire .
Fire is the sign of spiritual .

So this tradition is related to moral and spiritual stuff and it's like this way everywhere if you know some special customs for birthday share them with me.
