Random blogging #1: those small things...
Mmmmmmmmmmmm
I was reflecting these days about the impact of paying attention to our surroundings. I feel like lately I’ve been living totally in my head, planning and following plans, pushing forward... and I've neglected the most beautiful gifts that nature has to offer us, like a sunrise, a forest, a beach, a serpentine road, a sunset, the stars, the moon…
I don't mean to spend our whole days staring into the horizon or just lying there in the beach doing nothing. But to just stop for a moment to pay attention, to be there, to embrace that weird calmness, to be aware of everything and anything.
We need to stop looking inwards and start looking outwards more often, even if it lasts just a moment. A precious moment.
Funny then that I saw this movie last night: Demolition. It was about how we need to pay attention to those small things, those small moments. Otherwise we will just forget them, entering a kind of vital apathy. It's not just that we forget them, as sad as that is, but it will change the way we see our lives and make decisions. Because life happens moment to moment.
Happy day!
