It is like asking ourselves, are we happy in Steemit without upvote? If you entered Steemit for the sake of money, more money and nothing but money, you may find yourself filled with disappointments when only a few appreciated your posts. I have that kind of thinking before and it’s indeed an unhealthy perception. I can’t enjoy writing when my motive is wrong. It took me a long time to realize my improper motivation to write. Try to make a blog without worrying about upvotes, it makes a big difference.

A true happiness starts from the inner peace, calm mind, and contented heart.

It is the same thing in our daily routine, waking up each day just to go to work with no break for yourself is not life at all. It is what we called existing to pay bills and losing the chance to enjoy every moment. Never waste your energy in striving hard to earn more, live not just survive. I’m not saying to quit your job but learn to balance your lifestyle. Submit your paperwork on time but don’t forget to eat on time. Maintain your good performance as an employee but you must maintain your good health as well.

There is more happiness in having a healthy body than spending your wealth in curing a stage four cancer.

From a realistic point of view, we can’t deny the fact that money is an important medium in our life. It can buy us a shelter, clothes, and food. Money is also needed in sending your children to school, purchasing a gift to surprise your wife, buying vitamins to strengthen your immune system, and getting yourself the favorite ice cream that you are craving for. This kind of asset can undoubtedly make our life comfortable and easier to bear, but make sure that you haven’t lost the things that money can’t buy.

The meaning of real happiness depends on how we feel it. The things which make you happy are not the same source of everyone's merriment. Let’s think of the following situations and see how people differ from each other.

A delivery boy is happy when he delivered the items in good condition.

A chef is happy when the customers are enjoying all the food he makes.

A teacher is happy when the students are doing well in their studies.

A father is happy when he can provide the things needed by his family.

A singer is happy when the audiences are listening attentively to his voice.

A firefighter is happy when he extinguishes the fire without any casualties.

Money is not everything; it is just one of the many things in the world. Yes, it is a good friend but beware, it is the worst master. It is a dangerous move to make it the center of your life because it can turn you into a numb and selfish person. Never lose your family, friends, and even yourself in exchange for satisfying your materialistic hunger. It is like losing the diamonds while you are busy picking up the stones. Regrets are waiting to get their chance to knock at your door, don’t let it happen. Happiness is not about how rich you are, it is the ability to smile genuinely despite having less in life.
