An interesting collection of coincidences involving Daniel LarimersteemCreated with Sketch.

Out of curiosity, because I did some rough back-of-the-envelope calculations of the probable trajectory and possible price levels for Steem in the next few months in response to a comment, I had the number 19 come up.

The number 19 appears in a very specific place in the Qur'an:

And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers
Qur'an 74:31

Dan Larimer's two names respectively mean:

From the Hebrew name דָּנִיֵּאל (Daniyyel) meaning "God is my judge". Daniel was a Hebrew prophet whose story is told in the Book of Daniel in the Old Testament. He lived during the Jewish captivity in Babylon, where he served in the court of the king, rising to prominence by interpreting the king's dreams.

Larimer Name Meaning English and Scottish: occupational name for a maker and seller of spurs, bits, and other small metal attachments to harness and tackle. Compare Lorimer.

The last one made me laugh so hard, bearing in mind this particular post by @faddat:

Steem the Stallion Remember: Steem + the user community is he horse. Isn't he magestic? VS

Steemit, Inc: The sadistic Jockey

Note: This is a near-word-for-word instant message wall of text I sent to a friend. I have edited some parts to obscure their identity and added some contextual info to ensure that third party readers understand my full meaning.

blockchains controlled, owned, or otherwise dominated by a single corporation can never accomplish anything interesting in terms of disrupting today's existing power structures.
the moment they begin to approach that threshold of "interesting" the corp's owners will rightfully, and legally decide that it is time to exit
The thing that makes bitcoin and its ilk interesting-- and powerful
is multistakeholder non-dominant control of operational responsiblity and reward

Daniel is a wise man who has ingratiated himself to the king of babylon (the bible story)

Larimer is a man who manufactures metal parts required to torture horses into working, without require the effort of the rider to develop a strong rapport with the beast.

Good horseriders go bareback, and never stab, punch, kick, or whip their partner in fast land motion.

Good prophets escape from the doom of the wrath of God, which is really just another word, for the consequences of iniquitous behaviour. Not suck up. Note that not long after Daniel, who basically predicted the fall of babylon, by the way, the disease of authoritarianism finally got its barbs into the tribes of Israel, who up to that point relied on polycentric, decentralised law.

I'm not saying anything here, specifically, just pointing out a lot of lateral, semantic links between things.

On interesting coincidences...almost everybody in my immediate (an a fair proportion of the extended) family are born on the 13 of various months. Myself included.

Both my sister and I were born on the 29th, she in November, me in march. And our names are also two very prominent jewish figures in the bible, David and Daniel (my sister of course is a Danielle)

There is actually a biological factor that can be involved in it, though our calendars are somewhat arbitrary, they do follow a self-consistent ruleset. Thus such recurring patterns still have meaning, in the context of the underlying pattern in the calendar formula.

Highly rEsteemed Bruv! Great connections you made here.
Andy word from @faddat?

I chatted with him yesterday on facebook messenger. He is doing great, he's getting a treatment for his problem that is helping a lot, and he has even stopped smoking cigarettes. Unfortunately he is on a medication that slows him down a lot, but I directed him to some good information about better treatments than regular doctors, and I told him that his medication is a substitute for fixing magnesium deficiency, and he respects me a lot so I am sure that he will look into it pretty good.

Yes, I thought it was a pretty amazing set of coincidences. Especially that Larimer is a maker of devices used to torture horses, and faddat's beautiful metaphor of the Steemit community as a grand stallion.

That is awesome to hear. Yes, doctors are very bad for health.

I will do that. He deleted his google account, by the way, but you can find him on facebook now (you know his name, go search!).

I don't expect he is in the most strong physical or mental state now, but his sense of resolve in ending his addictions is clearly not far from my white hot passion for not poisoning myself anymore.

FRACK! I suppose this means I will be giving up cigarets soon...
I left Facebook for full time Steeming. We built the radio station you and I once talked about. @steempunkradio And I'm moving forward with other work we've all talked about. For me, DAWN never died and is as useful as ever. Glad to hear that you're getting a lot out of the last several months too. We'll get on the line again soon. I'm sure we'll have much to discuss ;)

wait, what? You already used this word steempunk - oh, only for thee username, not thee intentional name - Steem Punk Radio, not Steempunk.

Still, so damned close!

Yes, you must get clean and only take drugs for solid medical reasons (preferably holistic or chinese medical reasons). ASAP. All the cool people are going straight edge. There is nothing to be proud of about spending half your day with disordered neurochemistry, and taxing your kidneys, liver, and possibly interfering with all manner of other things.

Also, you are giving up nothing except an anchor on your progress. Stopping smoking was the trigger that started to see my motivation and energy and ability to perform tedious tasks much more easily. Like editing and eliminating typos and making nice layout. I still have to work on my impulse to pull the 'post' trigger, but bit by bit.

Dawn is not dead, but it has become, it seems, my primary job to manage it. As soon as I start to get clear of this detox process, it is high on my agenda to get to work and finish the code and documentation I started.

The Dawn Nexus is the first part. It isn't even any databases, but mainly gossip/epidemic protocols, except for the registry. The ledger is a specific application for this framework, and it is intended that once the framework is built, that multiple ledger protocols be devised, as well as implementing marketplaces, chat systems, exchanges, and the like.

Dawn will be Steem 2.0, but without the greedy, talentless narcissists that dominate Steem's management, dev team and their gaggle of bought and paid for witnesses.

I keep forgetting to log out of l0k1 when I am commenting. I need to implement an auto-resteem bot so that my l0k1 followers don't miss out on my current work, and gradually repopulate my @elfspice account
