Which world view makes the most sense?

in #philosophy8 years ago

There are many religions and world views out there, but my question is this which world view is right or at least which one makes the most sense. Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, athistism/ humanism, new age, and shamanism are all but a small portion out of the 4,200 religions said to exist in the world. So which world view should one follow? Which world view should a society follow and why?

As itachi uchiha once said “people live there live by what they believe to be correct and true that is how they define reality. But what is correct and true. What does it mean to be correct or true? Their beliefs may be just nothing more than an illusion.” So what is truth? Philosophy started out in Greek society as a way to find out what is correct and true (what is reality). And as time passed they branched out into the metaphysical and the physical. The modern day equivalent of creation vs evolution and as in those day we are still no closer to find out the answers to these important questions. But I think I have away in which each of these world views should be evaluate.

First I think a world view should not be arbitrary as in mere opinion or relativism. I am not going to go much into that one as I feel its self-explanatory after all if it’s mere opinion and changes with the wind I don’t think it really matters. Next thing any good world view needs to have the foundation or be able to account for the preconditions of intelligibility. A world view should be able to explain why we have the laws of logic. After all we them in order to reason. A world view should also be able to explain and account for the uniformity of nature, the basic reliability of our senses, and the basic reliability of our memory. As we need all of these in order for us to gain knowledge. As I said earlier without the laws of logic we couldn’t reason, and without the uniformity of nature we couldn’t accurately do science experiments because if we didn’t have it then the laws of physics could change from one day to the next.

Then if we couldn’t rely on our memory then how can we trust anything that has happened to us in the past I mean the knowledge we have today come to us in the past. I mean if you read the results off but can’t rely on your memory and sense how you can trust the results then, it would make doing sciences very hard. So which world view can best account for all these IDK but I am hoping you guys can tell me down below in the comment section.

Well lets get back to reality, religion was good back in the days when we had no government laws. Nations that separate religion from government are top nations in the world, the nations that use religions there people are immigrating or are refugees seeking to get to the rich nations that separate religion from government.
Now don't get me wrong i follow the ten commandments, you know all religions use the same ten commandments. It gives a good structure for life....
My view... Lets get back to reality here folks, a god would be narcissistic for him to make you, now you have to pray to him, some say 8 times a day, some say on your knees, some say wear hats, some say fight to kill, is that what a god would tell his people to do. Its all man's view on how they should pray, not one man or women has seen or talk to a god or any life that lived or is living as well. Someone did create this existense for all of us, there is a god, but get real folks saying i follow this religion is only what club you joined on how you pray nothing else.

Nice post

I mainly share a Buddhist philosophy. I can't really believe anything that I can't verify with my own experience. Other people's experiences are different and I can't say if it's true or not. I mainly reside on the side of "I just don't know".

My life is guided by two rules. Love God with all my might and my neighbor as myself. All other parts of philosophy and life are sub points of those two rules.

so far i'll settle for the trivium method, the quadrivium and the non-aggression principle. buddhism is way too mystical for me. also tried out taoism, zen, multiple branches of christianity, discordianism, asatru, urantia, ekankar, some of the egyptian cults, OTO, thelema, thule society, santaria, satanism, the temple of set, pythagoras studied zoroastrianism and came home to start a geometry cult, aristotle invented logic, some of the older religion/philosophies contain hidden knowledge that shed light on logic, mathematics, only recently rediscovered sciences. the qabala contains the methods for the quadrivium. our 60 second minute and 60 minute hour and 360 degrees in a circle come from babylon or something older probably, the geodetic foot is OLD, and looks to show that the knowledge of the earth being round is older than human history. parts of hinduism i've seen compared convincingly to aspects of quantum physics. there is the tao of physics. don't call atheism a religion to an atheist. out of all islam is the most nonsensical and brutal. don't believe me, read the koran, i dare you. scientism is stupid, spiritualism is a bore. i can't vouch for all of my sources. i've done my best over 25 years. there are some out there who dwarf anything i could muster. manly p hall is dead, jordan maxwell is one of our greatest living sources. it would take me 3 lifetimes to check all of his references. thomas paine was a staggering intellect. there are many, many more.
