The most unfair thing in life?
At an individual level
It is so hard for most people to appreciate what they have for most of their lives, and when we grow old, all we want to do is go back to the times we didn’t fully appreciate and no longer have the youthful energy or freedom to experience.
At a social level
That most of humanity lives in some stage of poverty and/or state of insecurity about survival - either literally in much of the developing world, or constantly stressed and one job loss away from entering poverty in the developed world, because the financial managers, politicians, and military-industrial complex who control our institutions steal wealth via the ‘silent thief’ of inflation, taxation that is then mismanaged or outright stolen, and behind the scenes wealth transfer… and most people have no idea that these are the true causes of wealth inequality.
The rich get richer, while the poor have less access to healthy foods, health care, education, safe neighborhoods, etc. which makes it less likely that they and their children will thrive or even survive.
Poorer people are convinced to join the army for opportunity or to ‘fight for their country’ when in fact most of the wars are fabricated for financial reasons or geopolitical imperialism, and so lives are lost and families are broken for others’ profit.
All of this takes place at a grand scale that most people cannot see or understand, thereby allowing the thieves to thrive unnoticed while people focus only on the political circus run by the media, who portray political personalities and fringe social issues as the main injustices of our time.
And so the frog boils slowly and eventually is eaten.
