Is a Doctors Life Worth More Then Others?
My reply to a post about super organisms by @thing made me think back to a quiz I once took. Using variations of the trolley problem they attempted to figure out what people think a self driving car should do incases of unavoidable collisions.

My answers favored the lives of doctors over the lives of others. I mean they save lives themselves so surely their lives are worth more right? Well, its been a few years since I took the quiz and my opinion has changed. Doctors are an important part of society, and have my deepest respect, but I can no longer think that just because they directly save lives their life is worth more.
How can doctors save lives when they must hunt for their familys food? How can they get to work when there is nobody drilling for oil? How can the hospital stay sanitary when trash goes uncollected? Who is going to educate them when there are no teachers?

All professions are important to society, even the most unrespected of them. We may be able to survive on our own, but we can only thrive together.
well done alex-draw!
