That's us enjoying our lunch earlier today. It was just a beautiful moment indeed. I was accompanied with by my feelow Steemian @dnnjyz @redaire and some of my classmates in college.

How do we celebrate it?
We decided that since it is Saturday we will have something special for lunch. Celebration either big or small deserves a great food right? Food has been a part of life since the beginning of civilization and making something special would really be a great thing to do.Although I don’t have the pleasure of cooking by myself, my fellow steemian and friends has made things possible and extra special for this day. Our bonding today has been so great and time -worthy. Thanks to @dnnjy for welcoming us in their house.

Going to the Market, What to buy?

I took this photo earlier i was very amazed with the great spices specially the vibrant and freshness of it.So the first thing to do is going to the market. But the challenge really takes in when we were there. We have not yet decide on what to cook. We were completely stunned by the colorful and great scenery of the market. The crowd scene in the market is very interesting. It is a center of attraction for both buyers and sellers that at one point i get lost earlier. Finally we decide that we will cook Pancit and Grilled some fish and some meat today.
IMG_3473.JPG
These are fresh fish earlier. The fish costs 100 pesos per kilo. That is quite great and not that expensive. The market of this town is a very noisy place. But surprisingly i enjoy buying everything we need today. We also buy some meat which is quite costly but nonetheless it was all worth it.Filipinos have a penchant for tingi attitude right?, or buying just enough for one or a few uses. The market is really a busy and vast place i would say, in this area you will see a sari-sari store and then you look the other way another area for vegetables stands and fruits.

We ride a Kalesa going to the other part of the market which is really enjoyable and refreshing!

Then it is cooking time- First up is Pancit!
Pancit-Canton.jpg

Pancit canton is as crucial and has been part to each Filipino feast as rice is to every complete Filipino meal, right? I personally really lovee pancit. I know that most of you will really agree with me that“Filipino Food” brings up many kinds of them in my mind. When it comes to Filipino Food, all I could think about is Pancit, the palatable hodge-podge of rice noodles, meat, shrimp, and vegetables an d spices made my day.

So this is how we do it
Ingredients

2 lbs. uncooked noodles – this version used a combination of pancit and vermicelli ( Its up to what is your favorite)
1 lb. lean pork, cut into very small pieces or chicken or shrimp depends whats available .
4 cups sliced mixed veggies: cabbage, carrots, bell peppers, and green onion
½ cup oil
1 onion, minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
6 cloves garlic, crushed
1 pork bouillon cube
6 cups water

That is the ingredients we used. It is essential to prepare all of these.

These is how to do it.

Here is a video that might help you too.

Then we also have some grilled Liempo. This is a favorite for most of us right?
IMG_3505.JPG

That looks so tasty , so here are the ingredients we use
Ingredients
1 cup soy sauce or 2 tablespoons oyster sauce (if you don't have)
1/4 cup garlic, chopped
1/4 cup calamansi juice
1 teaspoon fish sauce (patis)
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 kilo pork belly
and a little salt (I usually add)
fresh basil leaves
And if you sill remember i wrote my special recipe here about grilled liempo a weeks ago.

*Combine pork belly with the soy sauce, lemon, salt, ground black pepper, garlic and mix well. Marinade the pork belly for at least 3 hours. Mine i usually do it early morning, and at times overnight so it will have a lot of time to absorbed the mixture and be ready by afternoon.

*After that is you cook in a grill pan over medium-high heat. While cooking it, it is important to have a basting sauce that you can put on it while cooking. For my basting sauce i usually put Banana catsup and cooking oil. That works!
IMG_3504.JPG

*Then arrange pork in a single layer on lightly-oiled hot grates and grill for about 2 to 3 minutes on each side. When the pork begins to lose its pink, regularly brush with basting sauce. Continue to grill for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side or until pork is cooked through. It is important that you checked them for a while so you'll be aware not to overcooked it.

*Remove from grill and cut into serving pieces.

Then we are ready. it was all a total teamwork. Since it is a special day, We decide to make a little Boodle style in serving the foods. As we know the Boodle fight or style is a military style of eating in which food, piled on top of banana leaves laid out on long tables, and of course eating it with bare hands. The best moment comes in-Eating time! Fresh food is served hot and fresh which really gives us great moment together.

We arranged it that way. Isn't it looks great? If you’re a Filipino and haven’t tried any boodle fight or has eat in this style in some events yet then you’re missing out at least half of your life. Man this indeed a big part and is way of our traditional life!

We really had a great time, we talk on the journey here in steemit. some of our struggles and success as well. We also have some talk on joining different contest here. It was really a great and productive celebration.

Later part in the afternoon we also had a Coconut adventure in which we climb a coconut tree to get one .

The sweet juice of the buko is just so rejuvinating!

I really thought that today is just another ordinary day. I am really thankful to my friends , my fellow Steemian for this amazing bonding that we have today! friends are something who knows and understand us, right? They are with us through our ups and down. They say that ''To live life without the experience of friendship, is life without living'' which i definitely agree with.
My first month celebration as well as friendship bonding today was nothing but great and fun memory! Personal bonds creates and strengthen personal relationship.

Happy One Month Steemit
i would like to thanks everone who has made this journey of mine here in Steemit Possible and a fun one :)
