DALAGUETE —3 days will never be enough

Visited Dalaguete, Cebu over the weekend. And how I’d love to extend my stay to explore every breathtaking places this municipality has to offer! 3 days is really not enough!

These are my companions during the travel. Ofc travelling is better with friends☺️

Since we left the City early in the afternoon, we arrived there late. We just spent our first day buying stuffs.

I know right, such a wasted time.

But lucky enough there’s a spring just across the house we were staying, much to my delight it’s for free!

So first stop..

Gacub Spring

Of all us 5, I’m the only one who have never tried night swimming so I was the most excited😂

And yes! We enjoyed the whole spring for ourselve. How lucky could we be?

The water is very clear! ...and very cold😂

2nd Day

This is where the real adventure starts..

We have already contacted 2 habal-habal drivers to accompany us in our journey on the 2nd day. Thankfully, they were really kind.
(Ps, we overslept for 2 hours. We were supposed to be leaving at 3 am but we woke up 5. And kuya drivers have patiently waited for us outside😭😭)

And because we overslept, we missed the sunrise at the peak.

The locals said his name is whitey despite being black. Haha

The trail was actually quiet easy compare to others, we just have to have a stick tom complete the set haha.

You can reach the top after more or less 30 mins of trekking but if you’re fast maybe you can make it less than 20 mins.

I was a bit disappointed when we reach the top bec the whole place was covered with fog. Little did we know that when u visit it in the morning, most likey you will just see fog. And it was also rainy when we visit. But still, it was awefully beautiful.

It was hard to stay still on top bec of the hard blows of the wind. Hence, I dont have a decent pic there.

Sergio’s Strawberry Farm

We didn’t stay long here. None of us were a fan of strawberry so we ddnt buy. We just checked on the place bec the place is jus nearby.

It really seems so funny how I had a really hard time walking down to this farm than of the Osmeña Peak!

They asks 50php entrance fee per person.

Sunflower Farm

I don’t know why they called this sunflower farm when there are few more flowers there than sunflower alone. In fact i ddnt have a picture with sunflowers lol.

With a local caretaker.

Had a quick chitchat with ate and she explained to us why the sunflowers were not in full bloom when we visit. She said it's because of the strong winds that struck the place days before we went there.

It feels like I’ve been taken back to Spanish Era. (my fave era of the ph history, despite all the killings)

My heart was truly full and happy.

Obong Watchtower Ruins

Obong Watchtower was built sometime between late 17th century to early 18th century. This was used as a safe place to look out for coming Moro Pirates. It served as an early warning station and defense line for the townspeople when Moro invaders approach inland. Src: dalaguete.gov.ph

Few walks away from the watchtower lays Obong Spring..

After a long day, we dipped our tiredness away with the refreshing cold water of the spring.

Quick tip: if u want to relax more, choose gakub spring instead since it is not that crowdy compared to obong.

Our whole 2nd day journey cost us 250 each for the fare.

3rd day

Original plan was to go back to the city early in the morning but history keeps on repeating it self—we overslept again and woke up 11am. So we decided to just enjoy the rest of the early afternoon in Casay beach since we dont want to travel back in the city under the scorching heat of the sun.
