Blooming Petals
Your eyes won't hurt staring straight at this sun.
This time, we went south.
If you are up for a nature trip or looking for beautiful flowers for some photo ops. This is the right place for you. Your eyes would cling to the beauty of these flowers.
A thirty minute ride from General Santos City(GenSan). Tupi, South Cotabato is where these lovely flowers lie. The Mariano's Blooming Petals. You'll witness and enjoy the beauty of this place for less than $2. Most likely, people come here for some photo ops. Why not? You can't resist but take pictures of yourself together with these flowers, or even just the flowers. Haha.
This farm also has veggies all around. Yes, the vegetables are for sale.
They have produce goods, flower seeds, souvenirs, and almost everything there is that can be made out of what they have planted.
Korean drama fans would like to know how nice it would feel to be surrounded by a lot of flowers. Take it from my girlfriend, she struck a lot of poses at this flower farm.
Let's talk about the sunflowers. These flowers are the main attraction of this place. People from neighboring cities go here to have some photo ops with these flowers. The seeds are planted on schedule, it is for the flowers to bloom on a specific day or event. Most likely, they plant in bulk if there are upcoming events like valentines day, mother's day, etc. We were a bit unlucky because there is no event when we came here.
It was still fun though, great view. Nice place. There's a play ground, beautiful landscapes, and a restaurant.
In our visit here, we were able to talk to the care takers of these plants. They said these plants were not planted to be sold. They are for viewing only. They have a different farm for their flowers that are for sale and that farm is not available to the public. This place is the only flower farm I've seen over the web when I was searching for a place to visit here in the South.
The place is still under development. They are trying their best to make it as beautiful as it can be. They are putting up artificial falls, beautiful landscapes, and a lot more. This place was not at it's best when we came here but we were impressed. They have plans on having a lot of varieties of colors with their sunflowers as well. I am excited to come back here someday. I'll check it out after a year and write something about it again.
For less than $2, we had fun. We enjoyed taking photos. We learned a lot about plants and flowers. We listened to the stories of the people there and how they love what they are doing. A nice place with a lot of atories to tell from the south.
