ULOG #3 : FUN RUN at Changi Airport 😂 ... The stress of catching a flight!

Hello Singapura! This is my#ULOG no. 3 ... FunRun in Changi Airport. Well to begin with I would like to commend Emirates for always being sharp with their flight timings and most of the time earlier than schedule.

As we landed in Changi, everyone started picking up their baggages and were all ready to off board the plane and my first unfortunate position was being seated at the back 🤦🏻‍♂️! That feeling when almost wanted to shout and tell everyone “HEY PLS MOVE FASTER I’M CATCHING ANOTHER FLIGHT” but of course I won’t do such move hahaha. As the queue was taking quite a long time, I started to become anxious about missing my flight.

As I had my way out, first thing that came in mind was to ask an Airport personnel and figure out my step by step move particularly with Airport Terminal transfers, that was my first time by the way to go in Changi T4. Considering how big Changi Airport is, I guess anyone caught up on such little time will definitely be apprehensive about the situation.

The key I guess is just 101% presence of mind! That’s what I did and everything went smoothly opposite to what I was thinking prior landing in Changi.

Let me share with you how I did it just in case you’ll be in the same situation 😉. For all transfer and connecting flights without through-check-in (automatic transfer of your baggage from initial flight to your next flight) you have to pass by the immigration and check in once again. First you have to make sure of filling out any immigration document prior initial flight to save time upon arrival.

2️⃣ Head straight to the arrival hall and queue in to the immigration lane. TIP: if you are catching another flight on a short time difference from your arrival IT IS OK TO ASK AN IMMIGRATION OFFICER TO PUT YOU ON THE PRIORITY LANE 😉 ... I’ve tried it in Hong Kong.

3️⃣ Make sure you’ve paid attention to which belt number your baggage carousel will be. After immigration clearance collect your baggage to your respective belt number.

4️⃣ Next is the terminal transfer. In Changi Airport they have what they call as the Skytrain which primarily transfer passengers from T1-T3. Unfortunately there’s no direct link of the Skytrain from T1 to T4. What you have to do is go to T2 via Skytrain and proceed to the arrival hall where a bus will be available to transfer passengers to T4.

5️⃣ Proceed to your respective check-in counter or you may want to save more time, do the self check-in. Changi Airport provides enough self-check-in kiosks so nothing to worry about queues. If you opted to do that, after getting your baggage band and boarding pass, head straight to baggage drop-in counter and OFF YOU GO to the immigration clearance procedure.

6️⃣ Be completely aware of what are not allowed to be brought on your hand carry to avoid taking so much time with the baggage cross check procedure. After completing the immigration procedure head straight to your boarding gate.

With very helpful Airport staff and ease in everything at Changi Airport I managed to arrive at our boarding gate 1 hr and 30 mins before the flight then suddenly CebuPac announced that our flight will be delayed, initially felt pissed off about it.

But since I can’t do anything with it I just took a walk along the food chains inside and the food indeed brought me back to my normal senses haha

My key takeaway with this experience: IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCES, BE IT GOOD OR BAD, YOU’LL DEFINITELY LEARN SOMETHING.
