Finding your comfort food in a very unexpected encounter | HOMEMADE UBE MACAPUNO CAKE

CAKES! Who will not not fall in love and indulge in cakes! It is something that most celebration will not dare miss having with, be it birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and the likes.

I myself is a big fan of cakes, moist cakes in specific! Having been here in UAE for 5 years now, I haven’t tasted or tried any single cake that has a moist and fluffy texture when it comes to the bread. For the cake batter, there are a couple of cake brands that indeed meets top standards and quality. Though most brands particularly the big ones claimed that their bread is moist, but tasted otherwise. Nonetheless my go to shops here in UAE for cakes remain to be Magnolia, Cheesecake Factory and Starbucks, oh well starbucks serves moist cake breads.

In the Philippines we have a lot of options to choose from when it comes to cakes. Ala Creme, Contis, Cioccolo, Banapple, homemade cakes and even the economical ones like Red Ribbon and Goldilocks, taste and quality is not a question at all, rather guaranteed already!

Past two weeks ago when our housemate celebrated her birthday she bought a cake which she generously shared 1/4 of the whole slab with us. As I arrived home that day, I was so hungry and normally would want to eat rice and not any sweets/desserts. Out of uncontrollable hunger pangs, took a bite size and was surprisingly satisfied with what I tasted and eventually craved for more, that I almost finish the whole big slice if not with my Father’s plea to spare him even a small portion. 😂

This amazingly good tasting homemade ube macapuno cake is literally TO DIE FOR! From the bread to the batter, can’t even a word! It’s just so perfect with soda (though not that healthy hehe) or brewed iced tea.

This cake is available in 3 different sizes:
10 aed - small foil container
100 aed - 1/2 kilo round
150 aed - 1 kilo round

I AM ACTUALLY EATING THE CAKE AT THIS VERY MOMENT WHILE DOING THIS BLOG! 😂 ... This sweet treat is just so perfect to celebrate my 1st year anniversary in Abbott UAE and Labor Day!
