Tangadan Falls: A must see in La Union

in #philippines7 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemians!

I’m back .. from a 3 day trip to La Union Philippines!!

I remember when our friend told us about their vacation in La Union, they kept telling us how good their experience was..that they just sat there and relax.... that you can write a song especially if you are musically inclined. They found themselves happy and at peace. So from there, my Lovey and I decided to plan to go to La Union ..

La Union is a province in the Philippines at the Ilocos Region of Luzon which is also known as the Surfing Capital of the North and it’s very beautiful.

We took a bus in going there… (it ‘s cheaper!) and as we went off the bus, I’ve never been so happy to travel alone with my Lovey and meet our friends, hahaha. The place isn’t that far especially now that the Philippines have TPLEX (Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Express Way) it’s just a 4hr drive if you depart from Manila around midnight with no traffic at all and you’ll be there early in the morning without Mr sun yet. Actually, we thought that it will be a 6 hr drive assuming there’s a traffic but hooray for a safe and early arrival!!

Our check in time in the hotel was at 2 in the afternoon. So we spoke to the receptionist if we can just take a rest at the lobby. Thankfully they were very friendly and hospitable.

When Mr. Sun came out we set off to Tangadan Falls.

Tangadan Falls is one of the tourist destinations here in La Union which is a must to visit. It is known for its scenic beauty and clean clear waters. Adventurous visitors would climb up the highest area for a jump to the waters which is more or less about 30 feet deep. Off we went and trekked for about 1 hour and a half… we walked on a trail….through tall trees…

We went through a rocky stream ; went up and moved from large stones to another.

It could have tested our energy and patience. Thankfully, we have a tour guide named Dan Sarmiento, a certified tourist guide of San Gabriel La Union for Tangadan Falls. He was our navigator, entertainer, photographer and a story teller while we were on our way. His stories and humor helped us forget the long walk but instead enjoyed it. It made us wonder more on what is at the end of it. By the way he takes photos like a pro too.

Hooray!! Tangadan Falls!!

Breathtaking! .. <3 All I said: thank you Lord for this wonderful creation!! I praise and thank you Lord.  We took a dip into the cold clean water….took a lot of pics….

Going back …there are 2 options.. It’s either we trek again or to walk up the hill and ride a so called habal-habal or a motorcycle.

We chose motorcycle ride because we were too tired to trek again and we needed to go back to our hotel for our check in .. We had an adventurous ride going up and down, slopes .. it was one ride I will never forget! When you come to the Philippines be sure to drop by and visit La Union… Tangadan Falls is just one of the beautiful attractions of the place. There will be more coming up for you to see. …till then!
