First meeting with Drug Surrenders. Mindanao Philippines
About 50 drug surrenders and perhaps 20 officials were at the first meeting for the drug rehabilitation program for this area in the Philippines. It is a 120 day program that includes drug testing and a very nice hot meal and the attention of all of these people. I heard there were 70,000 initial drug surrenders. Investing 120 days of rehabilitation into each person is a significant investment of time and money.
What is unique for those of us from the western world, is for the government to gather these people together and invite you to preach the Godpel of Jesus Christ to them. The drug surrenders and the government officials, doctors, social workers all listened and participated while I ministered. My message was out of 2 Cor. 5:17 & 21. A new Creature! The old has passed away and all things become new! Vs 21 “He made Him (Jesus) to be sin, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. I once was hooked on drugs, alcohol and I was suicidal. I know this scripture is true!
Afterwards we gave a free Old and New Testament Cebuano Bible to each. I was asked to come back! Praise God!
