The Agta's of Quirino

In the Province of Quirino exists the tribe of Agta. They are often located in the mountainous part of the Nagtipunan. Characterized by dark-skin, cute kinky hairs and most are small in statue.

One of the noticeable things about them is their innocent image. But I can also sense some aloofness. You can read the doubt on their eyes. Technically, we are strangers and communication is one of best way to understand such.

Today, they learned to adapt to the new civilization while practicing their traditions. The weaved clothing was replaced by modern ones. Even the dialect, some of them speaks Ilocano and Tagalog which is very useful in their works as a laborer. Still, the elder is the person in charge when it come to decision making. They decides what decision to make and move to do for the entire tribe.

For the short time we've spend with them, I can still feel the desires of these kids to learn and educate themselves. Little by little, I hope to see the growth from these fellows and see the smiles of these kids widen.
