Fresh Seafood and Produce at Cubao Farmers Market

in #philippines6 years ago (edited)

The Farmers Market in Cubao, Quezon City is considered as one of the most known wet markets in Metro Manila, if not in the country. Operating for more than 4 decades already, Farmers Market has been a place for consumers that wanted to buy their seafood, meat products and other produce fresh and at an affordable price.

It is no wonder that being seafood lovers as my partner and I are, we are one of those who pay a visit to this market every once in a while, especially on a weekend when you can do it on an early morning to have enough time for some cooking or grilling at home.

We recently visited the place to buy fresh seafood for our small gathering at home. We managed to arrive early, around 6 am and went to the seafood section. A lot of live shrimps and crabs were on display with their respective price.

The tiger prawns looked very tempting but since a Kg was priced at Php 700, we opted for the suahe (the smaller kind of shrimp) which we bought at Php 360 per Kg (we bought 2 Kgs).

One thing I like in this market is that you can buy crab claws only if you're not up to buying the whole crab. In addition to our shrimps, we bought 2 Kg of the claws at Php 550 per Kg. On top of that, we also bought salmon sashimi for Php 300 a plate (contained around 30 slices) just for the sake of a craving-satisfaction.

The fruits stands in the market is one of the organized ones I have seen; by looking at the display alone would already entice you to buy. I'm saying this because we bought a Kg of ripe mangoes.

If you want to treat yourself to some seafood, you might consider visiting the area one time. Not only will you be able to purchase fresh products but you would also be surprised to an organized and not-so-crowded market. As for the price, most would say that the products here cost cheap but for me, knowing some wet markets near our place that sells produce and seafood at a lower amount, I would not say the place offers products at the cheapest amount. Depends though on an individual's definition of cheap.

Thank you for dropping by. ❤

All the best! {always}

I like mangosteen so much!
But, In Korea, tropical fruits such as mangosteen are so expensive that they can not be bought frequently.
I'm so sadㅠㅠ

Here in the Philippines, despite mangosteen being usually found in markets, it doesn't come cheap as well that no matter how often we would have wanted to buy, we settle to buying it just once in a while as well. A shame for a fruit as delicious and as nutritious as this one. Hopefully next time you could avail of this in Korea at a much cheaper cost.
