✈️Traveling with the one I love: Cebu City and its wonders😊
Goals
It is more than just relationship goals. It is more than just love. It is more than just memories. It is more than just moments. It is everything. I got so many reasons why I travel with my partner and they are pretty similar with other reasons who felt the the same way as I do.
I don't know how to express all the memories we shared together. Basically travelling together as a couple would be one of the best thing since you get to share memories in a particular place which I think is very romantic. Though travelling alone would give peace and solitude but travelling with someone you love gives excitement and joy.
So we went to Cebu city. A place where everyone in the Philippines would love to go. It would only take approximately 45mins to travel from Davao city to Mactan International airport and it amazes me that the airport's facilities are up to par. kudos to Mactan international airport 👌
The Reasons Why
Here are my reasons and some informations about the place
To Chill
Magellan's Cross (Spanish: Cruz de Magallanes) is a Christian cross planted by Portuguese and Spanish explorers as ordered by Ferdinand Magellan upon arriving in Cebu in the Philippines on 15 March 1521.
This cross is housed in a chapel next to the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño on Magallanes Street just in front of the city center of Cebu City. A sign below the cross describes the original cross as encased inside the wooden cross is tingalo wood as expressed famous historian Geo Zayas that is found in the center of the chapel. This is to protect the original cross from people who chipped away parts of the cross for souvenir purposes in the belief that the cross possesses miraculous powers. Some people, however, believe that the original cross has been destroyed or disappeared after Magellan's death and the cross is a replica that was planted there by the Spaniards after they successfully Christianized the Philippines.

The Adarna family, which runs the motel chain Queensland in Cebu, opened Temple of Leah to the public two years ago. Construction started in 2012 and is still ongoing.
The temple is a 45-minute drive from the city center, and entrance fee is at P50.
“I constructed this temple in the year 2012 A.D. as a symbol of my undying love for and ceaseless devotion to Leah Villa Albino-Adarna, my wife of 53 years. I adopted an architectural design that can withstand time and still be appreciated for a millennium so this temple will become a landmark of Cebu, where future generations of the Adarna clan ...can come and trace their roots and heritage,” explains a brass plaque plastered on the wall beside Leah’s statue.

Never Boring
Taoist temple is located in Beverly Hills Subdivision of Cebu City, Philippines. The temple is built by Cebu's substantial Chinese community in 1972. With an elevation of 300 metres (980 ft) above sea level, the temple is a towering, multi-tiered, multi-hued attraction accessible by three separate winding routes.
Unlike the neighboring Phu Sian Temple, the Taoist temple is open to the worshipers and non-worshipers alike. A ritual among devotees is where one prays to the gods to grant one's wish. The ritual includes washing of hands, going inside the chapel barefoot and dropping two blocks of wood. If the blocks of wood are both face up then one could make a wish. If not then it is not yet the time for one's wish to be granted and one has to come to the temple some other time.

La Vie Parisienne which means ‘Parisian Life’ in English. As part of the compound of the famous French restaurant, La Maison Rose, La Vie Parisienne doesn’t really look fancy outside but wait till you enter the vicinity. Located conveniently in Lahug, Cebu City, the French Bakery is an ideal place to dine, and hang-out with friends. Just reading the name, La Vie Parisienne in cebu city could already be a bit intimidating, but the place is really worth to be added in your itenerary.
La vie Parisienne offers dozens of choices from breads, pastries, cheeses and wine. Let’s go inside the store. There is a door leading you to a tunnel-like place where a variety of wine are displayed. You can also dine in this area.

New Discovery
The Basílica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebú (Minor Basilica of the Holy Child of Cebú) commonly known as the Santo Niño Basilica, is a minor basilica in Cebu City in the Philippines that was founded in the 1565 by Fray Andrés de Urdaneta, O.S.A. and Fray Diego de Herrera, O.S.A.. The oldest Roman Catholic church in the country, it is built on the spot where the image of the Santo Niño de Cebú was found during the expedition of Miguel López de Legazpi. The icon, a statuette of the Child Jesus, is the same one presented by Ferdinand Magellan to the chief consort of Rajah Humabon upon the royal couple's christening on April 14, 1521. It was found by a soldier named Juan de Camuz forty years later, preserved in a wooden box, after Legazpi had razed a local village. When Pope Paul VI made the church a basilica in 1965, he declared it to be "the symbol of the birth and growth of Christianity in the Philippines."

Two is better than One
Sirao is a barangay in Busay, geographically, located 17 kms from the city proper. Starting point is from JY Square, Lahug, Cebu City.
The Little Amsterdam of Cebu is an 8,000-sq-meter piece of uphill land privately owned by Sps. Alfredo and Elena Sy-Chua who grew, for the longest time, celosia flowers which are harvested in time for the All Souls’ Day and Sinulog. Celosia flowers are locally known as burlas and are said to last for eight to 10 weeks.
Sources say that these flowers come in yellow and red colors which are closely associated with the colors of Sto. Nino of Cebu. Elena loves the Sto. Nino so dearly that she and her husband started to plant celosia flowers on their hillside land, through the labor of their garden caretaker.

We've been traveling for almost 2years now and every travel feels like it is the first time, always exciting. That's it for today everyone and I hope you like and relate as well. Please support these groups and people. -cj
