My Nominations for the PHC Top 3 Monthly Contest - Board Games
This is my entry into this month’s PHC Top 3 contest.
This months topic is Board Games
No | Nomination | My Reasons for the Nomination |
1 | Cluedo. At one point, when I was still deciding what I wanted to do for a career, I was leaning towards forensic science and criminology. My favourite genre of film/ TV is murder mystery as well. This is a great game to play with family and also a good way to prove to your mother that you are better at solving mysteries than her @crypt0wid0w!! 😁 My favourite version is Sherlock themed as it is my favourite tv show.
2 | Game of Life. I love playing and beating my grandparent's at this game! The game has some good advice on life direction and that going for a quick buck is not necessarily the best way to go. My grandparent's version is the original board game from the 70s.
3 | 20 Questions. It's another game that I play with my grandparent's. They also have the original board game that was released in 1988. I have found that as I have gotten older I have been answering more and more questions. It's fun and a great way to wind down the evening. |

Too funny--I had thought about going into forensic science when I was younger, as well! For a project at school I chose forensic pathology as my career to study. Up until recently I still had the Ken doll that I dressed up in a lab coat and mask that I made. Of course the coat had a few drops of red coloring for effect. He has since been reverted back to his usual happy self to pass on to my niece's Barbie collection. Well that was a bit of a side story, but I also love Clue(do). Super cool that you still have the older versions of the other games, as well. Nothing beats some of the classics. :)
Ahh cool! That's so interesting! There's something about forensic science, it's so intriguing and fun! I love it! Haha, it seems like Ken is living great life! Clue(do) is really good. Board games in general are just a great way to socialise and spend time. Thank you for your lovely comment! :D

I couldn't resist finding the last picture I had before I dismantled his "lab gear". I think a friend of mine had even made tools out of clay. It is still a very interesting field of work, but I think I realized I didn't have the right mental fortitude to deal with it day in and day out. I much prefer to read the occasional murder mystery or watch something in that genre and keep my happy day job. :)
Thanks for these awesome suggestions for our contest this month! We've given you an upvote and logged your nominations, ready for the dpoll - keep an eye on our blog for the dpoll post!
Remember to transfer 50% of the post payout as SBD to @phctop3 with a link to your entry in the memo, otherwise it won't be eligible. This is the minimum entry fee, there is no maximum. You can add as much as you like to your initial fee to give you bigger potential rewards.
Haha, that's awesome that Cluedo formed part of your "training" for forensic studies! I hope that dream is very much still alive and becomes a reality for you - I'm terrible at the "whodunnit" style games or TV shows. I'm always the last person to "get it" haha!
Game of Life is one I've not played before but any game that teaches you valuable life lessons gets a big thumbs up from me!
20 Questions, simple, fun and does exactly what it says on the tin... well, the cardboard box it comes in!
Great choices and good luck for the contest!
