Tips to make the best out of pet photography.
Pets can be more than just friends to humans, and they fill a void in many of our lives. They can soon become a part of our family, and you often find their photos adorning the walls or tables of their owners. But is it that easy to get a photo of these cute pets?
Unlike humans, they do not understand posing for the camera. But you want them shown in the best light. So what do you do?
Here are some tips to help you get the best photos of your pets.
Keep the lighting natural:
Any animal is not comfortable with too much lighting or flash bursts. It can even result in the red eye for some pets. So it is advisable to keep the photos in as much natural lighting as possible. So you can try photographing outdoors or use a room which has an abundance of sunlight.
Sharp eyes for better photo:
The eyes of your pets are often more expressive, and hence they should be the center of attention. Show them sharper and ensure that there is a better focus on their eyes to get better results.
Make them comfy:
You need to approach the pets rather than making them come to you at your will. Also, you need to make sure that you photograph them from their level, even if it means that you need to lie down to their level. It will capture their attention and what they see from their perspective.
Convey the character of your pet:
There is no one who knows your pet better than you. The photo that you take should reflect their personality. If your pet loves to play, show them in their playful mood, or catch them yawning if they love dozing off. This will get their character into the frame.
Get close-ups:
The lenses that you have on your camera have to be put to better use which means you should try getting close-up shots of your pets. Closer photos often make beautiful portraits.
Catch them unaware:
The most crucial part of pet photography is to get the animal to stay still, which is next to impossible. So it is better to catch them unaware when they are focusing on something, clicking them when they get alert to a sound or noise.
Make a schedule:
If you want to have a professional photograph of your pet and you, it is better to make a schedule/ appointment when your pet would be more cooperative, like when it has just woken up or feeling sleepy. This will get you a still picture than other times.
Patience is the key:
When you want to take the photograph of your pet, it requires you to exercise a lot of patience, unlike other times. You have to make sure that you play along and bring them around slowly to the pose that you want.
Try taking photos from different angles and stay patient with your pet to get the best out of your pet photography.

Dogs can smell about 1,000 times better than humans. While humans have 5 million smell-detecting cells, dogs have more than 220 million. The part of the brain that interprets smell is also four times larger in dogs than in humans.

Nice tips. 'Catch them unaware' is the best one. But the hardest one too , they are always watching us. :-)
Catch them unaware is the way..
This sometimes applies to humans also.
The photos seem natural and when you'll look at them later in life you'll find them more valuable

Animals are the closest and most devoted friends of a person. They are more sensitive and loyal to people. They are ready to be from the very beginning, and some of us do not understand this ... and the animals are on the street.
