The Last Battle - Dedicated to Jodi
Jodi a gorgeous Rhodesian Ridgeback born on the 10th April 2010 and lost her battle against Cancer today 8th September 2017. This is a dedication to not only Jodi but the many pet lovers out there that feel the emptiness and question why?
The Last Battle
If it should be that I grow frail and weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
then you must do what must be done
For this, the last battle, can’t be won.
You will be sad, I understand,
Don’t let the grief then stay your hand,
For this day more than all the rest
Your love and friendship stand the test.
We’ve had so many happy years,
What is to come can hold no fears.
You’d not want me to suffer so;
When the time comes, please let me go.
Take me where my needs they’ll tend
And stay with me, if you can, to the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time, you will see,
It is a kindness you do for me.
Although my tail its last was waved,
From pain and suffering I’ve been saved.

Who must decide this thing to do,
We’ve been so close, we two, these years;

Hi found You on steemit @joanstewart (it is Themelis) not the best day for You, I am so sorry, have 2 dogs myself and can not imagine loosing them they are like kids to me must be the same to You, dogs love unconditional, sending You hugs
Was looking high and low for you Themelis knowing you were here in Steemit.
Yes our fur family always knock me completely off balance when their time comes to say goodbye, sadly the day always comes sooner than we anticipate. Jodi was very special in every way and I appreciate your kind words and making contact @nicnicy

I am so sorry to hear! It is very hard to lose a pet. She was a beautiful looking dog! Much love on this sad day :(
First time in 33 years and no fur family in the house, the house is empty and almost does not feel like a home @sweetpea
Always had one male and one female together to keep each other company, after the loss of Rex (my male RR to cancer) I have not been motivated to find a pup friend for Jodi and now the clock ran out of time, it is a big blow.
Who knows what the future will bring.
I have a feeling there is a fur baby out there that was made to be part of your family! Our pets really do have a way of making a house a "home". Very sad, but I am sure they had a good life and got the love and care they deserved x
Dogs are are really a mans best friend.
We get to love our pets like they are part of the family,and losing them can really be a heart breaker.

All the dogs I have owned have been my best friends, companions and great listeners, even when I spoke gibberish to them @gingerninja thanks for the kind words.
