Hello friends

Do you know that you can make a great food addition for your Aquarium fish, at home with ease ?
Especially Discus fish need nutrients in addition to their normal high protein beef heart flakes.

Follow me into creating a great and healthy treat for your little friends!

You need some spinach, carrots and Broccoli.
Boil them altogether for 20 minutes.IMG_20160418_204115.jpg

You also need to add some garlic to the mix.
Garlic fed to fish (and humans) is supposed to increase the immune system's capacity to fight potential diseases/infections/etc.

You also need shrimp and pees as they have plenty of vitamins and minerals in them.

Mix them on the mixer to make it creamy!

Mix them hard!
Optionally, you can add some spirulina (find it on drug stores and pharmacies)

Soak some pastry unflavored gelatin for 20 minutes. This will make the mix set.

Add this to the mix and stir hard.

Final step, put the mix on a polybag and spread it evenly so that you have a solid piece less than 1 cm thick.

Put it on the freezer until it's rock solid. That's it! You are done!

When you need to feed them, break small pieces of the brick and let them sink on your aquarium for your fish to eat.

My discus were hesitant the first time but eventually they adjusted. Now they are eating it like crazy.
Younger discus seem to adapt easier to a new type of food on the tank. Adults may have difficulty in adapting.

That's all for now! Thank you.
See you on my next article.
