I've been lucky in smelling and seeing roses lately, as many of the homes we are viewing to let here in England have lovely gardens with roses in. The scent is magnificent. The English have always bred their roses for scent as well as beauty and often one is hard pressed to find a good fragrance in roses sold in the US.
