The campaign against # Venezuelans is achieving its objective: to divert our attention from corruption scandals

These are the lies that they tell us and that the corrupt celebrate when they go viral:

   FALSE. The official figure is only 370 thousand Venezuelans throughout the national territory.

2. VENEZUELANS WILL BE ABLE TO VOTE IN THESE AND THE NEXT ELECTIONS
   FALSE. Only 26 foreigners of all nationalities are registered in the electoral roll and of them only 1 is Venezuelan. To have access to that right they must have 2 years of permanence in Peru and have the immigration card. Nor can they participate in the presidential elections, since only Peruvians and nationalized Peruvians can exercise that right.

3. THE MINIMUM SALARY OF THE VENEZUELANS IS S / 1,100.00
   FALSE. There is no current law. The minimum living wage in all of Peru is s / 930.00.

4. ALL VENEZUELANS HAVE GIVEN FREE ACCESS TO THE SIS
   FALSE. Only Venezuelan children enjoy this benefit, in addition to pregnant mothers. Adults have access to it by paying a monthly fee of s / 39.00.

5. THE VENEZUELANS HAVE INCREASED THE DANGER IN THE STREETS
   FALSE. Public insecurity is the responsibility of the authorities and the voters. The rotten justice system that we are witnessing today and the current governments are the cause of crime, corruption and drug trafficking in the country.

6. THE JAILS ARE FILLING WITH VENEZUELANS
   FALSE. Although it is true that bad citizens are arriving, the truth is that only 73 prisoners of the more than 70 thousand are of that nationality.

7. VENEZUELANS ARE REMOVING WORK FROM THE PERUVIANS
   FALSE. Their arrival has had a positive impact on the Peruvian economy, since they generate demand for housing, clothing, food, transportation, manufacturing, etc. In addition, they collaborate in the tax collection through the payment of taxes. The figures show economic growth in the last period. They are skilled labor in which the Peruvian state no longer has to invest. Peru will know how to adapt to this new scenario.

8. ONLY IN PERU THEIR ACADEMIC TITLES ARE VALUED
   FALSE. The recognition of university degrees is the work of the Peruvian Foreign Ministry in favor of the millions of Peruvians living abroad, so that their studies can be recognized by other states. Denying that right to foreigners would mean the same thing for Peruvian migrants in other countries.

1. LAS VENEZOLANAS ARE REMOVING THE HUSBAND FROM PERUVIANS
   FALSE AND STUPID. Infidelity has nothing to do with the arrival of foreigners. It is machismo that shifts responsibility towards women of another nationality.

2. 70% OF VENEZOLANAS WHO ARRIVED IN PERU HAVE AIDS
   FALSE AND STUPID. Besides that the figure is absurd, spreading it only shows our total lack of respect for people suffering from HIV.

It is true that there should be better filters in the income and continuous monitoring to avoid the exploitation of cheap labor or the falsification of titles to get jobs, but in no way should we be guided by xenophobia and false nationalisms.
