Tomorrow I will be sitting on a beach!

in Nebraska... lol

My SO and I will be packing up our 5 kiddos and driving 4 hours to Lake McConaughy. We haven't ever been on vacation so this is a real treat and I honestly can't wait. We won't be doing anything fancy, just camping, swimming, and fishing but man oh man does it sound amazing!

I haven't left my home state for about 14 years and the thought of hitting the road is a little strange to me. When I was younger I always had a wanderlust, I visited almost every state in the continental US, Europe, and many countries in Central America. Times change as you get older though and life gets busy. More and more my home state is feeling like my prison, sure it's big and beautiful... but a prison nonetheless.

We are only taking our phones for emergencies and we are leaving behind all other tech, we want to unplug for a bit, we want to show our kids that there is more out there than TVs and tablets. To be honest, tech is feeling a bit prisony as well.

The next 3 days are going to be all about connecting with our family without any interference. No routine chores, no electrontics just time together. It's going to be so nice!
