Chef de cuisine
Grounds and grinds
With mortar and pestle
Disdainful of each prescribed step
All arrogance in self-assured certainty
That this is the dish to be served
Is the dish to be served
The dish to be served
The ingredients
Morsels of bitterness
Sour and acetic
Shredded slithers of pungency
Drizzled vinegris and brakish
Mixed to glutinous paste
A porridged bolus
Mucilaginous phlegm
Slimed and tenacious
If this is
The dish to be served
It will be
The dish to be eaten
Sticked and funnelled
Into maw and gullet
Of the gull(et)ible masses
Is there nothing at all
Compassionate
Hopeful
Loving
A la carte?
