The friendship of animals and people in photos of the 19th century

We are always fascinated by vintage photographs from the era of bulky cameras and elegant costumes. It seems that people of that time also communicated with animals differently than we do now: they could easily plant bears in a chair, wash a lion in the bathroom and calmly feed a tiger cub from a nipple.
