The oldest writer to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature, a recognition that she herself referred to as "a damn disaster"
Lessing's work addresses cultural conflicts and episodes of racial inequality inspired by the personal experience of her life in Africa.
At 19 years old she had already written The Grass is Singing, but it was in 1962 when he published her most famous novel The Golden Notebook
Among other important titles such as the sequence of five novels called Children Of Violence or The Good Terrorist
