A Visit To The Penguin Hospital - Lighthouse - Original Content

I am blessed to live near the sea, and love spending my days smelling the fresh ocean breeze, and taking long leisurely strolls along the coast. Seal Point is spectacular with its scenic breathtaking views and surfers flock from far and near to surf some of South Africa's best waves.

There is such a variety of fauna and flora not to mention the wildlife, i.e. Dassies and seals, whales and penguins as well.
There are also dedicated people that volunteer to rescue penguins and sea gulls, that have been affected by treacherous oil spills from oil tankers that pass by, from other parts of the world.

Took my boys for a wonderful walk a month ago to the lighthouse and penguin rehabilitation centre. We watched them feeding and cleaning off the oil from their feathers so these birds could have a second chance at life.
