Mifflin (1983:375) states: ”Listening means” to hear or try to hear”. Listening is a cautious activity that is done deliberately towards spoken utterance which is heard to understand something or responding the spoken utterance, whereupon someone does not listen utterance or sound or voice deliberately, we say that the doer is a hearer.

Listening comprehension is an act of information processing in which the listener is involved in bidirectional communication, or unidirectional communication, and/or autodirectional communication. Bidirectional communication consists of taking turn exchanging speaker role and listener role in face to face interaction. Unidirectional one is one way communication. Autodirectional one refers to talking and listening to ourselves in our own thought processes(Murcia, 2001 : 73).

Listening or aural skill toward second/ foreign language (S/FL) was stated as one of the fundamental skills in English the progressive being of listening changed from skill of neglect to skill of increasing importance. During the 1980s special eyeing to listening was settled into new guidance frameworks. Prominent among these were formats which characterized functional language and communicative approaches. Throughout the 1990s, attention to listening / aural increased rapidly. Listening comprehension in S/FL acquisition become an important area of study. It is reality that listening lessons are tools in teaching elements of grammatical structure and presenting new vocabulary items to be contextualized within a segment of communicative lesson. (Murcia, 2001:69, 70).
