Peace, Love and Family..... The Alliance!

Symbols are items or gestures used to represent actions, objects or processes.

Throughout the world, there are various symbols representing peace and love and some of the more common ones include the olive branch and the dove, the heart, the broken rifle, a white poppy, the crane, the ancient Asian peace symbol of the pax, and the peace symbol - think hippie sign.

No doubt there are many more, but there is one that is becoming more and more recognizable worldwide.

This is the "V"-like gesture of middle and index fingers raised with hands facing away from the person doing the gesturing.

It is said resistance fighters during World War II used this symbol as camaraderie and strength. The "V" is the first letter in French, English, and Flemish languages for "victory".

But today, you would be hard pressed not to find someone using it in their selfies or in greeting or farewell, to show their love and peace.

The Alliance

In answer to a request from family #thealliance on their post to spread love and peace, I am more than happy to oblige.

The universal symbol for peace and love, two fingers front facing pointing upwards... it is a classic.

Well peace to you too! I love that signing and the smiles that it often brings.
Thanks for sharing a little bit of history and some of the symbols of peace plus your smiling face with the peace sign - who could not but smile back and return the peace sign to someone like you!
