A Piece of Peace
People think PEACE is a heavy word. Like you'd have to visualize climbing high mountains and cross stormy seas just to find it. Like it takes a lifetime to finally get there. Like you'd have to sweat bucketfulls or labor till your spine becomes scoliotic to achieve it .
Really, now? Such perspective is so dull and boring I could hear myslef snooze just thinking about it. If peace of mind requires a tall price to pay, the world will be going to the dogs today, right now. Ropes will be hung and heads will be strangled. Theatrical people would find themselves pinning suicide notes inked in blood as they bathe themselves in liquid of life. Drama, drama, drama.
Clarity. Serenity... Well I think, its something you work at everyday. Don't take it as something to be handed to you in silver platter for free. I pick a doorstep delivery as a metaphor. God sends it to us in a neat package, and we have to sign a paper to receive it. Of course, we have to spend some energy unwrapping our present. Why do I compare it to a neat package? Because this world contains so much beauty, so much blessings all around us. These packages are usually readily available; a mother's love, a friendly text, a qoutable qoute, an emphatic smile, a tap on the shoulder, a sunny morning, blue skies, a tasteful dessert, a caring hug, a cup of coffee, a bar of chocolate. The list is long. Sadly, these small and large gifts of joy go unnoticed before our strained vision deu to our clouded eyes. Let's call these clouds problems. At times, they could go to signal number four bringing dark grey nimbus blurring everything and sending rain that seems to go on forever.
Oh well, I'd say if that happens, might as well take off your shoes and dance in the rain. Play the latest dance craze hit, call your friends and party like its the end of the world. Grab a beer, shake it and let it explode. It takes a unique sort of courage to exercise your smiling muscles despite the downpour of stressors, especially if there's no one to tell you it's going to be okay. Face it, though such false reassurances do not help reduce the enormity of the hurdle, somehow it psychologically fuels our low emotional batteries.
Life wasn't designed to be comfortable, my dears. That's a universal fact. Even the disney princesses experienced their own crises before getting their happily ever after. Also, do you really think that after their happily ever after, they became immune to daily anxieties? Well, I've got news for you, Cinderella probably got sick, tired and pissed of dancing on her glass shoes by the time she tripped and broke an ankle. Belle would've asked herself if she's gone crazy talking to teapots and candelabras. And yeah, I'm sure all of them suffered from sore throat from time to time since Walt Disney makes them sing every friggin' day.
So, take time to listen to Dido's song entitled 'Thank you' where everything went downhill that day, but she doesn't care if her house falls down because someone makes her smile. No need to dwell on the romance. You could replace the love interest with the list of good vibes promoting stuff I gave you. Happiness is disproportionate with problems. A small thing that makes you happy could make all the BIGGIE problems seem less than negligible. Just takes you to want and make it happen. Clear your head, then fill it with serene throughts.
Be strong. Be safe. Be loved
