RE: PC build - part 1: mCube (Xeon E5 2673v3, Asus X99-M WS, G.Skill 3200 32GB, Zotac 1080ti AMP, NZXT Kraken X62, Thermaltake Core V-21)

Dope setup! I can remember my first PC build they were a lot bigger as for the possibility to do half the things. The size on that is pretty cool. What are you going to be running it for mostly gaming or design?

Thank you :) Yeah they were bigger by a lot haha ! My previous build was about 10-12 years back and basically it was a server case with a left and right chamber, I called it "Cube" ... leading to mCube on this one, the "m" standing for mini.
I'm impressed at how one could fit a nice build like this in about 1/3 if not less of the volume from back then.
First I'll be doing some gaming on this thing as I got hooked on Overwatch and it looks and feels absolutely phenomenal at 4K ultra settings on that UHD 40'' TV. Just need to wall mount that thing, seriously 20cm further back would be nice :)
Then some video editing and conversions for storage, some software development, a bit of web-design, etc..
Also the GPU is mining equihash (ZEN). I'm pulling 730 sols/s at 230W, that's 90% TDP on this card (would be 100% on others, the Zotacs have a slightly higher Wattage per TDP).

Like you I am really impressed about how far computers have come as well as the pricing being so much lower. I spent a lot for my first personal build which was in 2003 I believe. Its crazy cause I loaded so much cool stuff into it people asked me to build machines for them. It was a platinum colored casing, clear side window on one side with neon nights for the front mounted cooling fan even though it had fans on the inside. I thought it was so cool. I'd trade that thing for a good bowl of Ramen today...lol. Overwatch is definitely a cool game. I can remember being in awe of a internet cafe/counter strike place of assembly in Brunei. It was nuts just to watch how crazy they went at one another. I played the game before and a lot but never at that level.

You're right, I think it was also around that time I build that cube computer, it had costed me around €2500 to build it and later upgraded the GPU even...it was a monster back then.
A few months ago the whole thing went to the scrap pile (PSU and motherboard fried) and the case was sold for metal :) only thing that survived are those Enermax fans with variostat haha.

Oh yes I heard in Asia Overwatch is quite popular in internet cafés, also Asia has a lot of good players. It is super fun to play, really fast and intense. Some games make you really go "whoaw did that just happen ?!"
Anyway I'll try to get higher in rank with the new setup now :)
