Your article gave me many thoughts.
First, that cadre of internet commenters that are constantly in a state of indignant outrage about something... I read an article about them at Cracked just today. So often, they are ripping on "cucks" and "snowflakes" or exposing some hypocrisy of modern society or whatever. And yet, they are essentially indulging in the kind of incessant whining that they accuse everyone else of.
Finally, yes... The stories and struggles of veterans are often very opportunistically used to shut down certain conversations. And it is disturbing!!!
As you have spoken to this quite a bit in an article, I will mention my pet peeve in this issue. I call it "twitter-ized" communication. It seems like various issues are organized in different talking points. It does not matter what somebody says. Just reply with a talking point. It can be odd when this happens. It feels like conversing with a bot.
