Hi guys! I'm up for a new travel blog and today we are going to Leyte!

Leyte is in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. You can reach Leyte by land travel, air travel and by boat!

So with this blog, we visited Ormoc, Albuera, Baybay, Bato and Matalom! So I'll jam packed all the things you should do, eat and everything in between for your travel here in Leyte!

Ormoc

City of Ormoc, Leyte was dubbed as the City of Beautiful People! Their mayor is an actor and the wife and the congressman of the district is also a very beautiful, articulate and an actress!

So with your travel in Leyte, a private vehicle is a must but I think you can ride tricycles, bus and jeepneys but convenient, style and comfortabilty I'll go for private vehicle.

We were actually invited to the fiesta in Ormoc which happened at the last weekend of the month of July! Their fiesta is also very festive and star-packed.

In Ormoc you should visit Lake Danao

It's on the mountaneous area far from the city and the view was spectacular, the water was crystal green and the trees were all around. You can go swimming, eat and feel the nature in those bamboo houses crafted for waters and can be pushed going to the middle of the lake. Going further in the streets, the birds eye view of the lake was beautiful and the coldness of the air can be relaxing.

Visit Sabins Hotel and Eat Ormoc's Pineapple

We went there because one of our company stayed there and we watched the sunset and took a lot of pictures at the hotel facing the sea! We ate Pineapple at the restaurant's hotel which was good because Ormoc was known also for their Pinya (pineaples) festival because their pineapples are just different from the rest. For me, it was a balance taste of sweet and salty so it was a good experience for me.

You can also have the pineapples from the Market and stalls which sell pineapples.

Visit their Plaza
You can take a lot of pictures there for their big replica of pineapple, learn things museum at City hall, watch their fountain at night and wander around markets and other things that might catch your interests there.

Albuera

Visit a resort named Baybayon ni Agalon would be a quick get-away from the not so bustling city in Ormoc. The prices for their rooms below were affordable and the place was good and the ambiance feels like you're welcome to stay.

For children there are swimming pools and slides available. There is also a plauground for other activities! For animal lovers a mini zoo were there and animals like snake, owls, ostrich, koi fishes and ducks were there!

For relaxing sound of the sea and sunset, the beach is welcome to accomodate you with cottages and swings around!

Sounds fun right?

These are the prices from the resort if you wish to stay the place.

Try Albuera's Barbecue Stalls

At night, head to their public market for barbecues at night. A lot of stalls to choose from and you'll get to eat just on the sea side!

Baybay

See their Plaza and Night Fountain

Next town from Albuera is Baybay City! We didn't had enough time to explore the city but we were able to visit the colorful sign in Baybay at their plaza and enjoyed their mini-oped dancing fountain!

Bato

Try their Chocobud
Bud-bud is one of the delicious delicacies here in the Philippines made from rice and coconut. Chocobudbud is not different except from the middle part which is filled with chocolate that adds the sweet and delicious taste of Bud-bud.

Matalom

Visit Canigao Island

Canigao Island is a beautiful white island in Leyte where you can swim and relax with the family. Actually, it is still up for rehabilitation now until the 16th of July so it won't be available. When we went there it was the last opening day until it will be up for rehab so we are very lucky. All you need to pay is 120 pesos beside the city hall of Matalom and it covers the back and forth transportation going to the island and entrance fees. You can also bring foods there so that you can save money.

Reminder: Be a responsible traveler, your non-biodegradable trashes are to be kept and be thrown in the main island of Matalom not on Canigao.

I hope you had fun Steemians! See you on my Hello, Leyte blog post soon! Thank you very much!
