1c vs $700, are you some kind of idiot? I upvoted the comment for visibility. Most of the time I have my comments on 'decline payout'. This $700 is coming from our rewards pool for the sake of an advertisement. Get a clue!
Until that gets built into the governance system or more people than you care to flag we all got better shit to do than worry what is on the trending page, like grow our accounts so that maybe just maybe we can flag and it hurts, I have never seen the point in fighting someone if I am not 50% sure they won't get back up. Yeah there should be a push for them to use the promote tab but you are not cruizing the promote section are you and they don't show the promote section on the landing page either so why use that tab at all?
It is all about the money, and in the case of partiko sure let it be their devs work hard and whether you agree with 700 or not you won't get anywhere with you flags to make a difference not at this scale. pick your battles and grow then get bigger and better battles if that is your thing. Or you could just go trail follow @berniesanders so you can feel special, heck if grumpy was here I would say go for that he really rocked the boat nicely.

I am not moaning or bitching about a bot war. I am taking action. This bot war is definitely winnable. Look at the response I am getting in this room. My account is tiny yet it is making a ripple which is slightly bigger than tiny. Ok that doesn't sound great. If we can get a few hundred out of hundreds of thousands of planktons downvoting these bot abusers, we can make a difference.
My account isn't going anywhere, my videos are pretty shit anyway. There are other people that are producing good content and deserve a chance, we owe it to them.
I once saw just a blurry picture with 2 lines of text making more than $500.... to be honest I rather have partiko making this kinda of money so they can use it to improve their app and make steemit more user-friendly :)

The reality is, they will probably only make a few dollars out of all this. Them buying votes is an indirect transfer of $700 from the rewards pool to bot owners and their delegators. As long as thousands of dollars keep flowing to the bots. People will keep delegating to them and there will be no rewards for anyone else.
Maybe a stupid question.. but how do you know the votes are bought?
I would like to see that people who actually try to make quality content getting higher up..but the most I see on the trending pages are either advertisement or people with a high number so it doesn't matter what they post they get upvoted into an oblivion..
But that to be said ... I use the partiko app and it makes it much easier to interact with followers and to make nice posts

You could try looking at the upvotes. If you see names like rocky1, buildawhale, booster, promobot etc. Then the post has been upvoted by bots.

What you can do, which is even easier to do is to go to: https://steemwhales.com/clean-trending/
This site provides the percentage of upvotes from bots.
If you want to know which posts are actually earning the highest rewards. Go to: https://steemit.com/spam/@steem.organic/test

If you think buying all those votes to hit the top of trending page isn't a problem then maybe you don't have a clue. Learn how the rewards pool works before making ignorant comments.
I'm not ignorant - Everybody is free to do that, and everybody who can does it for ROI. Are you downvoting everyone who buys votes? Or only the ones why buy enough to make it on trending? When was the last time you saw a post trending that didn't buy large votes?

I can understand people buying votes to get exposure on the tags and maybe make a small gain in ROI.
What I do not condone are people who buy votes to get straight onto trending. The trending page is the front page to new users and visitors, some of them may want to invest in Steem. This page should have the best content. The only way to have the best content is for the community to vote it onto that page. An advertisement earning over $500 creates an awful impression. People argue that it's bought votes and not what they are earning. How the hell is a potential investor going to know let alone understand that?
P.S. I'm not calling you ignorant, I am making reference to your comment.
Then - and this has been discussed and criticized a lot - the mechanism for Trending is obviously faulty. If you can buy into it and that's not intended, then it shouldn't depend on large votes. Now, for the nature of the Steem ecosystem, we have to live with (large) bots as they provide ROI for their investors and customers. I understand your frustration regarding high-quality content on Trending (and generally), but:
That said, you're obviously free to downvote whatever you want, I just think it's the wrong battle you're picking.
I personally care very little about Trending as I aim to curate my followings, but I'm probably not very representative.
