He had a great liking for Alexander Pope, the prince of satirist in the 18th century and for Gifford, his worthy successor. He closely imitiated their form and style in his satires. Don Juan is his highest achievement in which he unbosoms the digressions of the high society. He uses wit, humour and irony to satirise the hypocrisy and corruption of the society
