The OnePlus 7 Pro is confirmed to have 5G and a much better display

We have seen renders of the OnePlus 7 surface earlier, which were then reported to be of the OnePlus 7 Pro variant instead as renders of the standard OnePlus 7 followed along. Leaks have also mentioned the existence of a third device, the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, which as the name implied, would be the phone with 5G support.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has now confirmed to the The Verge that the OnePlus 7 Pro will feature 5G and a significant display upgrade with a display that is “super-smooth and very crisp.” This piece of information builds upon the rumored Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with a high refresh rate of 90Hz, but it clubs together the OnePlus 7 Pro and rumored OnePlus 7 Pro 5G into one single variant.

With all of the information available right now, it would not be too far-fetched to guess that the OnePlus 7 Pro will come with a price bump, thanks to the 5G support. Hopefully, the standard OnePlus 7 remains closer in pricing to previous flagships, so that users can enjoy the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC at a relatively lower price tag.
