Copy from macOS and paste to Android
I just installed Partiko. I didn't really know anything about it, but someone posted a link in a comment to a steem post I was about to read.
So I followed the link, although I was on my Mac and decided to install it in the Play Store web page rather than pick up my phone! That worked great! The first time I've tried that. So I picked up my phone, and as I have hundreds of apps I couldn't see whether it really was installed, although the web page told me it was installed.
So I went to settings, general and checked the apps, scrolling down to P, for Partiko, and there it was! I exited settings and then the Partiko icon appeared in a new screen on my phone. Kind of magic, really.
So, I opened up Partiko, and of course I was not logged in. I discovered that I could log in with Steemconnect, so I looked back up at my Mac and searched for my (encrypted) note with my Steem credentials in it.
I went through the arduous task of typing a private posting key in there while the text box hid the characters, and then it told me it was incorrect! So I thought that it would be nice if the process could have been as easy as the app installation had been. I'd like to be able to copy on the Mac and paste on the android phone, just like I can copy on the Mac on the right hand side of my desk and paste on the Mac on the left hand side of my desk! But it would have to be secure... these are private keys afterall.
ProtonMail! The answer came to me right away. So I launched ProtonMail in my desktop browser, pasted the key into an email, with no explanation or context, and did not send it. Of course it saved it in the drafts folder.
I then opened ProtonMail on my phone and copied the key from the untitled message in my drafts folder and posted it into the Partiko, Steemconnect sign-in password text box.
It said it was incorrect again! But this time I was certain I put it in correctly, so after a little while I realised that this was demanding my Active private key, not my posting key. I have not used Steem much, so this was not obvious to me initially.
It was then a simple matter to copy and paste my active private key from my Mac into the Steemconnect login box on the android phone, and here I am writing about it.
I hope this is helpful to other noobs like me! 😉

One little follow up. Those draft emails in ProtonMail are, of course encrypted, but the next step is to delete those draft messages, rather than have random private keys sitting in ready-to-send draft emails.
