Let's dive straight in...

Have you ever wondered why some people tend to do exceedingly better in the life than others? Have you also ever wondered why only a few people succeed in their various careers here in the Steemit Community?

I have. If you do too, then you're not alone. In fact, we all do everyday. Who wouldn't love to be a Steem whale forever anyway? I believe everyone would love that. This article begins with a question for two very important reasons:

First, to ensure that you're passionate about change.

And finally, to checkmate if you're ready for change.

A lot of people say they want to be successful in whatever endeavour they set their minds on, but not all of them are sincerely ready for that adventure. Why? It's pretty simple. They're seldom prepared to take the required leap that'd bring that change into actualization.

This article exposes several approaches that can help you achieve your goals in the Steemit Community, and in life at large. As a bonus, some keys for greatness have been included to boost morale if you're already caught up with under performance.

The Norm

Everyone wants a taste of success in life. We all do. I'd love to be another Bill Gates. I know you'd love to be some other Jeff Bezos. Sadly, no one wants to be the simple guy on the street with his street clothes on; an old shirt, dead blue jeans, a pair of sulky shoes with that hungry looking smile. Just picture it all. No one wants any of that. We all want the Gucci's, Vuittons and D&G's on. Why? That's because by default, we are inclined to love whatever is good...and feels good. Nature is in play here. That is what makes us human.

However, that is not entirely true. Is it? How many of us actually attain such heights in life? How many of us get to that apex where our dreams become stepping stones to more dreams; where every wish could be bought by just a signature. Very few do. This raises another question - why? Interesting! Not being able to attain such heights result from a countless number of reasons, some of which are of our own making. There's a notable wise saying that goes thus:

"Study the greats and become greater."

If we want a taste of greatness, we must first be ready to accept change. Observe the people around you - in your neighborhood, office, and family. How many of them are successful? How many of them can you learn from? How many do nothing but wish? How many are actually ready to accept change? If you answered these questions sincerely, you'd realize that only a few people around us have attained such amiable heights. Get in touch with those few. Make friends out of them. Learn from them. Exchange ideas. Brainstorm! You'd find out one very unique quality in all of them - they were all willing to accept change irrespective of the price it cost.

The ability to accept change is the very first decision that'd guarantee if a project imagined in the mind would be successful or not, even right before it materializes. It begins first in the mind. And that may mean having to let go of some old habits that never got you anywhere. One habit that stands out as an enemy of success, what I term a habitual sting, is procrastination.

The WordWeb dictionary defines procrastination as "the act of procrastinating; putting off, delaying or deferring an action to a later time." Pretty much everything we do everyday either leads us to achieving our goals or heading away from them. With procrastination, what should be done NOW is left for later. And that comes with a whole bunch of excuses.

I can't do this now because...
I can't try this new model because..
I can't do this... I can't do that...

The excuses continue piling up until we can't take them anymore. The result? We give up even before we start. That's the big problem. Most people want to do more but cannot. They've allowed procrastination to eat deep into their souls. They regret their actions but cannot help it. Same rules apply to us all in Steemit Community. How many times have you left that project for later? You've got to understand that if you want to get the best out of whatever goal you set your mind on here, then be ready to accept change. Having a goal isn't just enough! Keep procrastination aside. Always do what has to be done now NOW! Enough with the i'll-do-it-later mantra.

If you want to be successful in whatever goal you set your mind on here in the Steemit Community, give these keys a trial:

Keys for Greatness:

  1. Avoid Procrastination

A lot has been said about procrastination earlier. If you want to achieve greatness in whatever endeavour, ensure to obliterate the habit of procrastination from your life. Don't leave work for later. Thanks to Nike's slogan, all you have to do is just do it. Do it now!

  1. Be Consistent In Whatever You Do

Consistency is the second key you have to consider if you're going to make it here (or anywhere else). Avoid procrastination. Whatever plans you have set down should be followed swiftly till actualization. Do not falter in disbelief even as a beginner. I am no pro in blogging, but I believe I can do great things with my mind. And I am willing to pay the price. I want you to have that same ideology. Don't give up yet!

  1. Connect with Like Minds

Millions of people out there share your vision. They can as well help you actualize your dreams if you let go of ego and connect with t. As a bonus, having like minds in an adventure ensures that you don't get bored along the line, you stay focused and have a reason to continue because you don't want to miss the wonderful people you're with. That's superb! Connect with as many people as possible. You never know where that help will come from.

  1. Always Prioritize

Yes, I know we've all got our activities going on. Who doesn't? Having a clear knowledge of priority in all you do is a sure way to determine your success. Get a diary. Plan ahead. Prioritize what must be done now and what should be done now. This will help you avoid procrastination and strengthen your resolve to achieve your goals.

  1. Eat Good Food and Exercise Regularly

Oh, no! What's this? Relax. Don't you need some energy to carry out the activities that'd actualize your goal? I bet you do! Always ensure to eat good, well balanced meal and exercise regularly. A well rested mind can do much more wonders than you could ever imagine too. Get some rest. Get enough sleep, at least 7hours everyday. Your brain needs that memory boost to retain information and ideas as they flow in during your research.

  1. Have the "I Can" Attitude

Just believe in yourself. That's the first truth you owe the Universe. If you believe in yourself, then there's no limit to what you can accomplish. You to have the "I can" attitude. Don't be afraid to try anything new. A new model. A new approach...whatever. You can achieve whatever you set your mind on if you believe in yourself.

  1. Ask Questions!

People with great minds ask the most questions. They are curious to know more. They're always the first to drop the W&H questions -- why, what, which, where, when and how. They're super fantastic and super enthusiastic! You have to learn to question everything. You don't learn a dime by staying mute. That's why we have the FAQ section in the Steemit Community! Virtually any question that has been asked and answered can be found there. Is there anything you don't understand? Ask as much questions as possible until you do understand. Engage in sessions of productive debates on whatever subject matter that intrigues you. You will surely realize to your own amazement that the more you ask and inquire, the more you will eventually know.
