How to explain cryptocurrency to your family?

It is so hard to explain what is block-chain and cryptocurrency to my parents. When ever i start a conversation about crypto, they will walk away or shut me up. Especially when your parents are Asian, they also had advice me to stay away from this crypto because it mostly could be scam.
