HOW TO PLAN YOUR KIDS PLAYDATES
Kids Playing with their mates at a playtime isn’t just about the fun, even if it is important.
Here are guidelines to get your kids playdates to become successful.
Listen carefully
Does your child mention same name over and over again after coming from school or daycare? Inquire from him of there is any friends or playmate in school he would like to invite over, you can also ask the teacher if there's anyone your kid has taken interest to spend playtime with.
Smaller Is Better
When helping out your kids on a play date, invite just one for a start, an odd number is a probability that one will be left out. Keep the playtime short for one or two hours.
Keep it Familiar
If its your kids first play date, organize it in your home or a place where he or she is familiar with. If it should be organized in someone's home or unknown place, stay behind, your presence will give your kids confidence especially in case of conflicts.
Always Plan Ahead
Before your kid's playmate comes over, talk to his or her teacher about what activities they would like to have. Tell her if television and computer are off limits. If you feel there is a favorite toy your kid might not want to share with anyone, put it away.
Be Present, Be Invisible
When your kid's playmate has arrived, don’t just leave them alone. Start some activities that will break the nervousness and get things moving. Once the play is progressing well, stay back a little but be available in case anyone needs
when Conflict occurs Let Them Work it Out
If conflict arises, unless it gets physical or serious, stay out of it. Little conflicts barely last and there are chances that the kids will be able to work it without your help. If the conflict gets physical, step in. Explain to them that the kind of behavior is never acceptable and help both kids come up with a compromise.divert their attention other activities or a snacks.
