Developing healthy habits in children

The joy of motherhood is said to be giving birth to kids, but definitely many can't own those kids to have that joy..
Kids loves playing, talking, walking and laughing when eating which is unhealthy but its up to the parents to lead them towards the healthy path

- Embrace the Concept of Family

Family concept can affect the children either negatively or positively, these concepts includes closeness of the family , democratic parenting, supportive home environment and mind-stimulating activities. On the other hand , if the parents tends to be too possessive or over protective, the children will end up having bad health behaviors.

- Promote Positive Habits

Endeavor to improve the method of openness among the children during meal time. Get the children involved with meal plannings, food shopping, cookings and room to express themselves. Also this goes for exercise and fitness, make sure each child is carried along so no one is lagging behind.

- Keep Foods Neutral

Never use foods as a means of rewards or encouragement for studies like cookies and candies, using food as rewards create a bad relationship of food among the children. Implying a food is bad or worse in the presence of the children will only increase their curiosity, parents who exert pressures on their children's feeding habits will find out they eat more of the forbidden foods.

- Don’t Force Feed

Don't force kids to clean up their plates as they grow up, don't force them to finish up those veggies, stay in dinner till every thing is scraped out.. This may increase the children's nutrition but also increase their hatred for that particular food as they grow up.. Because children's appetite fluntuate with time.

- Plan Regular Family Activities

Forcefully impacting activities on them will reduce their interest rate or make them get involved only at the moment. Instead encourage them to choose any school activities they love and make it their regular activities, take them on a walk, jogging and make it a family tradition so as to make it permanent within them.

Research shows that parents can affect the children's development and behaviors either positive or negative especially during their early stages when they are most vulnerable. Always engage with your children and be that person you want them to become.
