Jab at Klinik Kesihatan Ibu dan Anak, TTDI 🇲🇾

in #parenting7 years ago (edited)

Yesterday I brought my daughter to her first jab (or second jab after discharged from hospital). It's quite a dread as we need to be up super early and bringing a baby out is like moving house 😂. This time we decided to bring her to Klinik Kesihatan Ibu dan Anak, TTDI. This is our first time being there and we didn't know what to expect. The only thing that we know is that we need to be there early!

We planned to go after we dropped off number 1 to school. But........ from all days, both of us couldn't wake up! So there goes our plan to get there early. Other than that, number 1 was super late to school. Lol! We finally got there at 9 am (considered late for government office related stuffs) and of course the queue was quite long. We registered ourselves and went for breakfast as nearby there's A&W, one of @calebleejl 's favorite fast food chain.

After eating and taking our own sweet time, we were back at the clinic again. We waited another hour plus until it was our turn. The clinic was not really the best looking but we were greeted by very friendly nurses (even better than private clinic!). She then weighs number 2 and put down information about her growth and milestones thoroughly. Very impressive. Then it's time for some needle! As expected, she was not really happy about it and had a loud cry as a complaint (sorry baby😔). After that, we were rushing off to pick up number 1 but before that, my husband asked where to make payment. The nurse asked 'are you Malaysian?' then, of course, he said yes and she said 'it's free'. Something that everyone loves to hear!😀

We spent a fortune on number 1's injections and never once we thought of going to the government clinic. I guess I should say that I'm really impressed by the service that the country provided except we have to wait a little longer which we don't really mind. Here's to many many more visits there. :)

Hi @silviagoh, hope you don't mind me sharing my kk experiences too. Haha. I too bring my boy to klinik kesihatan as well as private clinics for jab. Haha it is crazy how early we got to leave house. Once I reached at 830am, the queue and wait was three hours!!! Then we learnt the lesson of leaving house latest at 7am, must send in the logbook before 730am, and voila done before 830am. Usually we get the first two turns.

I used to just wanted to take all the jabs at the private clinic because of the wait. But then I thought if I can save hundreds on jabs and get him toys or other stuff with it, why not? Haha. And like you said, it is free because it is our birthright as Malaysians :) nice reading your post. Surely reminding me of the two whole years of waking up early and rushing there 😜

Hi! Wow u were still not too late at 8.30 and still have to wait 3 hours! we were lucky coz that day it wasn't too packed there coz 9am surely was super late. Thanks for the tips for reaching at 7.30am. That will definitely help me save lots of my time.😊

Haha my aunt taught me this. She said 730am is the time the nurses come in for work then they will give out the numbers at 740am. By 8am, the number would start. Hence why, if our book can queue earlier, we get the earlier numbers. Haha.

wow ok ok! No matter what we need to drag ourselves out from the bed for next appointment. thanks alot! :)

Yay to free injections!!!! :) baby no2 looking very healthy! Must be hardworking momma’s breastfeeding 🤱

i know right? Should have given birth at a government hospital as well. She is a heavier baby. Weigh more than 5kg already!😀

more than 5kg!? haha wow, iron arms everyday have to carry her XD (have to carry 1 year somemore)

haha according to my experience with the boy, it's 4 more years and counting! :O
