My photo was flagged and removed from Facebook for violating their nudity policy. Umm....what?
First, how awesome is it that Steemit is an open platform that allows us to express our opinions and interests so freely? ...and having said that, here is a collage of a very tasteful newborn photo shoot I recently had done...

For me, Steemit's open policy has never held the weight it deserves until a recent photo of mine was flagged and ultimately removed from Facebook. They claimed that the picture violated their "Statement of Rights and Responsibilities." Specifically, "...content that: is hate speech, threatening, or pornographic; incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence."
Ummm... What?
Now, I fully understand that this makes plenty of people feel uncomfortable and any form of breastfeeding in public is currently a hot issue. I am assuming that this is mainly due to unfamiliarity or perhaps mastrophobia (Google it)?
However, it's 2016 people! Why is it that women who nurse in public, or share photos of breastfeeding on social media, are practically accused of committing an obscene act? Why are they being publicly isolated for the sensitivities of other people who are offended by a perfectly natural thing? It's 2016 and yet we still have an issue with breasts?
...But clearly not when they are exposed on a woman trying to be sexy?
Parenting is exhausting enough and to tell a woman that she needs to isolate herself for several hours a day is inhumane. Motherhood is hard as it is without being told a laundry list of ways and places you can do something as natural as feed your baby without offending the sensitive masses. Seeing woman nurse in public is good for the baby, good for the mother, and sets a good example of motherhood to all ladies watching. In fact, seeing something over and over is the best way to normalize it.
I'm curious. What are your thoughts?

I find media crass and contributes to a mindset that only focuses on extremes. Advertising is highly sexual and violent, but viewers can't deal with boobs and suckling babies? That is in my opinion crazy....
I find it so crazy that my photo was removed and I see worse images on FB all the time... so thankful for Steemit. I hope that as we grow, we can continue our open policy...

Sex sells and breastfeeding hurts the cashcow by reminding breasts actually have another function besides being an place to rest eyes when we men talk to women.
And the latter part was a joke of course!
I breast fed my daughter 16 years ago. I found it bizarre that people would rather hear a screaming baby than ignore a baby breast finding quietly in a corner.
Some people are just completely nuts.
Keep doing what you are doing: Your baby will have better hearing, memory and fewer colds than other kids.
Tell anyone offended to grow up. I get that some people are sensitive about it, but really, I see that as their problem not mine.
It really is unbelievable. That's been going on for so long now and they refuse to change their stance on it.
I certainly appreciate your post about breasts being visible during feeding an infant. Wow. Society continues to get more twisted and stupid as we go. Thanks for posting such a sweet set of pictures. You and baby are very lovely.
